Elisabeth K. Nyakatura, PhD

Dr. Nyakatura is the Director of Preclinical Development and Operations of Traverse Biotech. Dr. Nyakatura works at the intersection of biologics innovation and R&D strategy, with 10+ years of experience advancing early-stage science toward therapeutic candidates.

Prior to her role at Traverse, she led a team of protein scientists at the Sanders Tri-Institutional Therapeutics Discovery Institute (TDI), driving execution across 20+ discovery programs, including T-cell engagers and multispecifics, from target validation to in vivo proof-of-concept. She has authored 28 peer-reviewed publications with 1,000+ citations.

Dr. Nyakatura holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Freie Universität Berlin, and a Mini-MBA from Rutgers Business School.
